WOW , Queen never won a Grammy for that four part harmony on that Hmmm Opera album ? I only followed Queen for thier first three albums , so I don't know the name of the album , but my brother who is a professional musician used to rant about how great that was that they could pull that off [ the four part harmony] .

It is interesting that Led Zeppelin never won a Grammy. It was their fans that kept them going against stiff criticism from the music press. I think it is only fitting that the bad not only turned out to be such a huge influence on the 'music scene of the day' by "raising the bar musically" but also influenced a whole crop of young players at the time(and I hear that even the young guns of today "know their Zep") that eventually gave us some Kick Ass Rock and Roll.
For me personally, the first Zep song that go my attention was "Good Times Bad Times". Then one thing led to another and I became a huge fan of LZep.

After Pink Floyd, Led Zeppeling was my second favorite band!! I saw them in the 60's in Chicago at "The Kenetic Playground", one of my best trips!
Whole lotta love..............

Thaw good choice...For me Zep conjures up images as I listen to their songs....same song ...different day... different image. Very few bands do this for me...The Doors do this as well. I wonder how many times, some of us on here become part of the band when listening to their work.
Thanks man

Thumbs, up, what can not be said that has not already been said by most here. I love how you got in a vid of John's tune Moby Dick, but even though I did like that one GM. This one will always be my fav for the simple fact is, it showed something of what I saw earlier that year. Being able to see Zep live then see this movie well, lets just say, it gave us more insight. To a band that we already loved.
Led Zeppelin - Moby dick (the song remains the same)

Like I told GM, I probally will not even submit an article/vid here. But I do change the vid on my page. Even though that one has been up a couple of weeks. It was like the last one that I liked a lot and had to leave up for a while.
GREAT GIG IN THE SKY

Love the instrumental intro of over a minute.
"It's got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home"
"Oh Yeah Oh Yeah." One of my favorites from Zep.
Good choice.
Thanks gm Great music from a leader of the bands.

Awesome stuff.
"Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords.
On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing."

Great post, thanks. Growing up, every time they came to Chicago I was there to see them and always had a good time.

Here's an interesting side item, GM. I was in England in the mid-1960s and remember seeing a band "Robert Plant and His Band of Joy" in a small provincial theater. I remember nothing of this, apart from a blonde lead singer sceaming forgettable songs to indifferent backing.
It was clearly the melding with Page & co., when LZ was formed, which provided the touchstone to Plant's talent. I saw an early LZ on TV and Plant was already unrecognizable. When I first saw them "live" in 1970, it was like an entirely different person from the one I'd seen about half a decade earlier. Power of music, I guess.
