Funny stuff! Little known fact. "Mandy" as sung by Barry Manilow was originally called "Brandy". The title was changed, along with the name of the woman in the song because "Brandy" was a recent hit and it was thought to be too close. I have a copy of a studio recording where Barry actually says "Brandy" first and then says "oops".

That's true. However, "Mandy" was originally "Brandy" in England where it was written. Manilow rearranged it and this is the version with which most of us are familiar.
