My submission for mellow Monday is an overlooked song by B.T.O.,"Blue Collar".There are a lot of songs that can be posted by this band but this has always been one of my favorites. It really shows some of the influence that jazz had on this band.Hope you all enjoy.Have a good mellow monday.

Definately different from most of the BTO that I have heard. Reminds me of ZZ tops first album which was very bluesey.

Yes it does.

The video was removed from YouTube for violating terms of use. But, I've always loved BTO and "Blue Collar" in particular. Randy Bachman is a highly underrated guitarist. His work as a member of The Guess Who was fantastic as well.

I wonder what the violation was.Hmmmm, thats where i found this.

With a cloud of dust and a mighty "Hi-yo, Silver!" the masked man rides in to the rescue:

Thanks for the mellow mood, BadDad. It's amazing how I really live this tune: "I'd like to remind you, at 4 in the morning, my world is very still...I need the quiet hours to create in this world of mine." Never realized before just how this is the truth of my own tungsten-lit world!

And Hillary, on her way to give her "Dropping out means something different to me" speech, stops to say,

"Who was that masked man? I wanted to thank him!"

BTW: Notice the lil' Maple Leaf on the BTO logo? Heh heh...

The guitarist must've been chanelling Santana. ;) Nice pick.

Santana and BTO were about the same time, lol,MAYBE it was the other way around.

Thanks BD. This is a remake of American Woman...a bluesy version. I like this version a lot.

I like that. That intro sounded like Creams "I feel free".

It does sound a bit like that.

I was trying to figure out if that was Burton or not. It was hard to tell.

Yes it was Burton.....If you want to see a good DVD....get "THE GUESS WHO RUNNING BACK THROUGH CANADA" It's great. I was there for some of the filming.

This is a song that is really 2 songs in one. It seems that a lot of the Guess who videos have been removed from youtube.

Have partied with Burton...he likes his rye and he also plays the piano, him and Randy just loved to bang heads though

This song is one of my favorites. There is driving bass line in this song that doesn't come across real well on this version. Those Canadians sure could rock.

All Canadians rock Honey,,,except Robert Goulet and C. Dion lol

Everytime I start thinking that Canada has given us more than their share of great music, I remember that my neighbor to the North also gave us Bryan Adams and I can't help but hold it against them.

How true and don't forget Wayne Newton.

But we do have Streetheart and Loverboy, Rush, Triumph, Godo and others

Thanks baddad. Kind of a jazzy feel to this; reminds me of perhaps a cross of Santana and Steely Dan.
