Music – Thought i would put this up today. It's not metal,lol..The Michael Stanley Band was a good band with good regional success. This song is live and is one of my favorite live recordings(although the conversion to mp3's hurts the quality)because of the great production.Hope you enjoy this oldie.
Loved them. From Ohio myself, they were a kind of "pride and joy" thing. Ohio is not the greatest Mecca of big timers.htt...">http://youtube.com/watch?v=hsFTi1DuZ8U.">timers...
Paste didn't work. The Raisins were a Cincinnati band I spent most of every Friday, Saturday boodgeying to. They went on to NYC with Adrian Belew of Talking Heads fame and formed The Bears to some success and then formed The psychiodots opening up for Adrian.
If anyone is interested go to youtube type The Raisins-Fear is Never Boring.
I think they were pre Outlaws,i could be wrong, but my foggy mind seems to remember listening to Michael Stanley first.Maybe he influenced the Outlaws ?
From research TheStanley band was around the same time but pre Stanley band(1969 Smooth as Silk) was this http://youtube.com/watch?v=6YRzeXnRWEM which I can hear the Zepp/Cream sound.
I remember listening to this song on vinyl many times and can safely say that digitization of this piece of music has sonically and tonally castrated this song.
The sweet ambience or natural rich reverb of the instruments, esp in a live format, is digitally flattened(EQed) out and or eliminated to the point that I felt as though I was listening to this in a room covered in acoustic tiles with ear plugs in.
Bad is right; if you want to get the real feel of the song listen to it coming off of vinyl as an analog creation not a digital one. If you do go vinyl, crank it up and let the sound wash over and vibrate through your body; it will sit you free.
The band is great, the song is great, the digitization almost kills both.

They were out of Ohio and toured the midwest often. In the area they shared the stage with most of the big seventy's and eighty's bands like Alice Cooper.REO,etc.Good solid song writing was the biggest appeal, not to mention a good stage show.If you ever get the opportunity to listen to this on good vinyl then you would see why i say it is one of my favorite live recordings.
