This is the 3rd song I wanted to share of beauty and peace.

This song is extra special for me because on the tour it first came out was the 1st time I heard saw people with tears in there eyes at a rock concert.

Beautiful music.

Thank you very much. It's a toughie but the 3 songs I put out I believe I'd have to pick this as favorite for sentimental reasons:)

Just wonder why not only YES but old bands don't get any airplay but have noticed a lot of these "has beens" are automatic sell outs in new markets in South America, eastern Europe and Russia.

it was oh so sweet...thank you rdy2rck

It was indeed -- and literally classical, at times. The piano was pure perfection, from Wakeman. Good one, rdy!

Thanks rdy! That's a pretty piece.

Great song.

I wonder how it would sound 'live' with a 'real' grand piano instead of an electric keyboard?

Great vocal; but then again, this singer is always great.

Truly a great love song.

Great pick rdy2rck.

I always wanted to hear them with the "real" instruments. I did see "Rick Wakemean play solo with a grand and it was fantastic.

I'm glad they have the technology they do but some things just can't quite beat the real thing. Wanted to see them ina Cathedral also. Now that would be

"grandiose."

I do agree r2r; "...but some things just can't quite beat the real thing."

Didn't they record in a castle or a Cathedral at one time? I sometimes get confused about who did what back then.

Yeah. Rick Wakeman recorded his organ on the "going for the one" album and you really can tell a huge differance. On the album they just jump out at you especially now with surround sound.

When he soloed he used a baldwin grand and he came out with a candelabra dressed like Liberace.LOL

But like I said I'm glad trhey have the tech. It brings more music to the masses.

I can't complain about the tech bringing more music to more people but I take exception to the sound quality.

I think that if you pay high prices for the new digital sound, either via a sound system or a cd, one should be able to 'hear' the full sonic spectrum available to the human ear instead of something that sounds like two people talking through tin cans attached by a string.

So Rick used a Baldwin Grand and looked like Liberace. Sweet visual and I bet the sound was good also.

I agree. But when it comes to music I'll take what I can get. It's like I got the cheapest comp. speakers but have to stop myself and think "and the deaf shall hear."

As forRick, the Baldwin plus he did have a smaller Hammond organ but The Liberace thing made me laugh. The feather cloak and candelabra.LOL

BTW- I thought Liberace was a classic. Plus cathedrals were built for sound where areanas are not.

Wow! I have heard just about everything by Jon and Rick but this one somehow slipped through the cracks. Some of the most beautiful, subdued playing I have heard from Rick. Made me pull the cover off the keyboard and add some accompaniment. Fairly simple to join in although Rick is eons beyond me in talent.

I still listen to "Tales from Topographic Oceans" quite often. Although I can understand why it is a bit challenging for many it still inspires me. And "The Six Wives of Henry the Eighth" will always be one of my favorite keyboard albums. Amazing the sounds Rick created with what today would be considered antiquated equipment, notably the mellotron, basically an analog sequencer. No ProTools here.

I loved my visit to the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame but to me there will always be a gaping hole there rent by the snobs that continue to exclude YES and bands like Rush. Musicianship rules!

I agree about the "snobs" at the Hall of fame. I mean YES brought classical music from hundreds of years ago and brought a new generation into it. Give me a break.

overlooked Yes albums biggies are ABWH(Anderson Buford Wakeman Howe) and Union. Got great songs and some rockers too.order of the Universe really jams. The meeting is on ABWH.

Glad you can play. I was always to uncoordinated(really LOL)

You are correct VOR, about how they have Continue to ignore Rush and Yes. Let's face it every band they have inducted into the hall of fame were at one time heavy radio-played artists.

While Rush and Yes have been played on the radio. It was not the radio that made them famous. It was their music that made them famous and we are still buying anything they put out that is new. Rush just came back through Dallas for their second round of Snakes and Arrows. Just like what I am expecting the Yes show to be like. The Rush show had everyone from the ages of 9 to 70 years old. The guy who was 70 became a fan after he heard the 3rd album, Caress Of Steel. He said that anyone who could write music like The Fountain Of Lamenth, had to be put up there with Yes. The smile on my face told him all he needed to know how I felt about that.

Ok I have not read any of the comments, yet. I had to talk about this song. I really have felt this has to be one of the best songs Jon has ever written. With Wakemans piano playing and the lyrics.

This belongs right up there with two other ballads of theirs I like.

Madrigal and Onward, both of these are from Tormato. My favorite album. The ABW&H is my second.

I love both songs A LOT.I think ABWH DVD catches YES about the best.

Since you haven't read the comments I said I was going to blab the concert to you before you went.LOL Just kidding. The surprise is half the fun.

BTW-Always loved when they did amazing grace too.

There was always something about Yes that made me really sit down and listen to the music. Whether it was Rik going nuts on his solo. Howe's mesmorizing guitar work on pieces like, The Clap and Mood For A Day. Jon's angelic voice singing songs like,Heart Of The Sunrise or Circus Of Heaven. Cris thumping on a bass line like he was Thor pounding out lightning bolts. And Pick your drummer, Wight or Bruford, either one has made the pounding of the skins an artwork.

Put all of these musicians together and add a few more from the years, and you have the makings of a band that we only get to see once in a lifetime.

You are correct and actually feel blessed I get to see them once more.I like many bands but YES is one of those almost once in a lifetime match ups of talent.

Like I've said before at most concerts at points I lose contact with my surroundings and am transcended to a higher state of existenance. But with this probably the last time it would be so hard to pick "the song" to hear once more because I can guess some standards and you can pretty much right off some songs.Plus I already know some of the standards they'll be playing. I guess if I had to pick one "masterwork" it may be Awaken.:)
