rdy:

I remember cranking this up and throwing down some shots of Wild Turkey and just rockin' to to the sounds. Eased my mind and let me just focus on the music.

Thanks for the memories.

It's a good thing to have a lot of favorites. Then you never get tired of your favorite. LOL

I remember trying to convince my girlfriends of that. LOL

You must have had a cast iron stomach and a chauffeur to take you home.

avatar

No,i just threw up a lot and was lucky i didn't kill someone while driving.

avatar
Reply

No kidding. 151 is quickest way to get a buzz I guess. That will definately limit your drink tab.

Ha! I once had a T-shirt with the slogan: "Support wild life -- drink Wild Turkey" I did!

Great video, rdy, of a fine fine band at their peak. They made wonderful driving rock music with Lord and Blackmore, in particular, true masters of rock keyboard and rock guitar.

(The film has Japanese subtitles, for some reason; I think the version you found must've been off Japanese TV).

Props locking up real bad.But DP was a huge success in Japan well before they were in the States hence the song "Women from Tokyo."

But for me Highway Star was the beginning of my head banging stage:)

avatar
Reply

That's right, now you mention it,rdy. There's a huge arena in central Tokyo called "Budokan", built in 1964, originally for martial arts events, but DP were allowed in (to widepread disdain, at the time) and the concert was recorded. '"Live" at Budokan' is still a masterpiece.

avatar
Reply

That Rings a bell. A Lot of groups now that I think of it have albums entitled "live at budokon."

Cheap Trick for one,and some of the recent metal bands have recorded there. Some place have the right everything for a good recording.

Lmao,...

CM, thanks -=- a whole bunch of spammers joined in early April, they especially hit the music sites -- but always with an ulterior motive.

Hey blinkers how's it goin'? You are quite welcome. It gets annoying.

The ones that are the worst are the ones that submmit stories, that may be spam (who wants to take a chance of their computer crashing?) or not, on the wrong threads. Spent about two hours last Saturday on the Art and Design channel sinking stories there about dogs, how to get rid of spam, your computer has spam now what, what to do about spam, got spam (this one is my own take on humor)?, and news stories.
