"nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you inside..."

Ha! Isn't that enough? "All You Need is Love" ...To me, this is one of the great songs that epitomized the music renaissance.

Thanks rdy!

Great song, but they didn't come up with it until they were insanely rich, before that they sung about keeping such things "for the birds and bees. Now give me money, that's what I want".

Great link, somehow I missed this one, too. I've been wondering how many of my attitudes today are possibly influenced by the "Beatle baby" in me from years past...

Hard to get through that video dry-eyed, mntnman, a wonderful link.

Isn't it amazing how many folks, worldwide, were so profoundly touched by their work (a great example in CA's post above mine)-- and they really only had about 7 years of output, as a foursome.

Beautiful.

Outstanding, GM! I hear their voices and they still strike the same chords in me, I love the Beatles, always have, and I guess I always will, I Will.

Thanks for this rdy2rck...this sums up John Lennon nicely...

Of all the great John Lennon songs, this one, Imagine, was one I never cared for. To me it was more Yoko Ono than Lennon.

Interesting comment, CA.

If I knew nothing at all about the people involved, I'd probably love this song, but by then John & Yoko were multi-millionaires singing from a fabulous house in the countryside, the words tend to jar -- "Imagine no possessions...."

The big white piano ended up in Jamaica with Michael X and his radical fringe group.

Sometimes it's better to just hear the music, or see the art, without knowing anything about who created it, or why.

Hi Blinkers, very good to see you! I always enjoy your comments.

I admit, this song kinda made me angry. To me it always seemed fake, and saccharine and not at all like the Lennon style I learned to love. He always seemed more edgy, rowdy and honest. He was even a bit of a bozo sometimes but he was basically just "John" and often "pizzin'" people off on a regular basis. "Imagine", to me, always sounded contrived, very shallow and a weak attempt at political correctness. It definitely wasn't John's, he wasn't that sweet. (Remember "Norwegian Wood", was he really singing about burning down that poor girls home?)

Great to see you, I am off to sleep in a minute with a long day ahead tomorrow!
