I agree but I HATED the wait. I posted this song mainly because I saw them once and Arethra Franklin showed up with doo-wap girls on this song then did Respect. WOW.

And I do like the lyrics. He sure gets around.

This version, with Clapton on lead, shows up on a Stones "live" album called High Wire, someone gave me long ago. On the same album is a spectacular version of "Sympathy for the Devil".

(Anyone who's not a Stones devotee, doesn't really know what rock music is all about!)

I would have loved to have heard that.I really like "Sympathy for the devil" on "get your ya-yas out" album which I thought the Stones were at their best. I did find "Midnight Rambler" from the same album which I posted below.

It's superb.

Agree with you about the Ya-Ya's album (and a few bootlegged tapes from the same tour), though "High Wire" runs it close.

Im not too familiar with "highwire". I will have to check it out.

Definitely one of my favorites.I have seen the stones three times over the years. The first time they had Stevie Wonder as their back up band..lol.

They did so many great songs over the years, where do you start with a band like the Stones.

Good one RDY.

Totally true, bd. An incredible and consistent output of rock standards, from their earliest Chuck Berry-cover days right up to the most recent work. (Saw them in '69, then again in 2006, their power and command of the rock genre was/is UNDIMINISHED!)

One of the best rock n roll songs ever Thanks

Great post R2R. Don't know exactly how they do it, but Mick and the Boys have stuck around for loong time. Maybe they signed a pact; and one day they'll all turn to dust on the stage. :)

Now who would NOT want to be at that show?

rdy!! You can never go wrong with the Stones! Great submission!

How many "woo woo's" are there in the background?

I counted one time and want to know if anybody else did???

avatar
Reply

Well, I add some in my head.LMAO

avatar
Reply

Does "woo woo" count as one or two?

avatar
Reply

I counted it as one then multiplied it by two, 181-362 if I remember correctly.

"I put two and two together;added twelve and and carried five, wound up with twenty-two hundred telephone poles an hour..."

Strange. I was seriously thinking about posting this song yesterday. It was between Sympathy and this one:
