I hear bagpipes cryin Amazing Grace,

Tears rollin down his mothers face,

Old Glory draped liked heavans mercy,

over the fallen son.

What a shame.

rdy - You are all too correct, there's never a "good day" to post a song like this.

But ANY DAY is a good day to honour those that given so much......

Much appreciated.

Sad & beautiful work, here, rdy. Pity I'm on so late, so no-one'll read my comment. As long as some-one's out fighting somewhere, music & images like these are relevant.

It is always especially moving to visit a cemetry of war dead, and tragically, there are dozens scattered across the world. I never emerge dry-eyed and always feel it's time well spent. Respect, respect and honor for those who've given everything.

I agree. There's more than Old Glory draped across coffins world wide.

Can't stand the sadness and I can't understand anyone not feeling or supporting those defending their country. Very very sad. My respect and honor to those serving our country.

I have seen friends and strangers fall, a mothers tears, a fathers eyes, a folded flag given in tribute for one who gave his all, and I remember.

Thanks for the sometimes painful sharing. I just hope this eases the pain a little knowing that there are people out there that try to understand what the day is and not just another 3 day weekend.
